A new mode that includes one and two player co-op play.
Decent story line that has the Task Force 141 looking for Makarov, Zakhaev's former right hand man, and the USMC fighting the Russian army whose invading the US. The ending is awesome as it has Shepherd and Price fighting only for it to end with a wounded Soap throwing a knife directly into Shepherd's eye. There is a new slot in Create A Class called "Equipment" where the player can choose from a shield, claymore, C4, throwing knife, or semtex instead of the standard frag grenade. If the host of a multiplayer game leaves, the game will automatically pause for a few seconds to choose a new host, and then the game will resume, preventing many highly irritating mid-game ends with no or inaccurate results. There are now 15 killstreaks as opposed to just 3, and you can pick whatever 3 killstreaks you want. 
The multiplayer improved on certain aspects of the previous games. Soap (the protagonist of Modern Warfare 1) returns and is now fully voiced. 
Amazing graphics that were nicely detailed at the time. A remaster of the game's campaign, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, was released in March 2020 on the PlayStation 4 and on Microsoft Windows and Xbox One in April 2020. It is the sixth installment of the Call of Duty series and the direct sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, continuing the same storyline. The Xbox 360 version was made backward compatible for the Xbox One in 2018. A version for macOS was developed by Aspyr and released on May 20, 2014. It was released worldwide on Novemfor Microsoft Windows, the PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
